Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31 1965) is a famous American actress and model. When she was 12, she began her career as a model for children. She was praised by critics for her performance in Louis Malle’s 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teens and starred in several dramas throughout the 1980s such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields ended her modeling career to study at Princeton University where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. In the 90s, Shields returned to acting and appeared in minor parts in films. She also played a role in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), which earned her two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). Shields returned to NBC in 2017 with the role of a regular Law & Order: Special Victims character from the show's 19th Season. Shields plays Beverly Goodman in Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles since 2014. Brooke Christa Shields was a Manhattan, New York, native on May 31st of 1965. She is the daughter of Teri Shields, who was a model and actress, and Frank Shields, a businessman (1941-2003). Her mother was of English, German, Scotch-Irish, and Welsh descent, while her father had English, French, Irish as well as Italian ancestry.According to research by William Addams Reitwiesner, Shields has ancestral ties to many noble families from Italy especially from Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi of Civitella Cisi was the Italian noblewoman and the daughter of the American prince was Teri's paternal grandma. Her great-uncle was Italian nobleman Alessandro Torlonia, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain.When Teri announced that she was expecting, Frank's family gave her a payment to stop the pregnancy.
